Next stop on our voyage is going to be an exciting one! After exploring blogging, Twitter, and surveys, it is time to begin something completely different: YouTube videos! Although I have wasted quite a few study hours watching videos online, I have never uploaded one myself. I have a bit of video editing experience from a high school graphics class, and I hope that my prior usage of iMovie and camera angles will assist me on this next journey. We have been instructed to create an informative one to two minute video to post on YouTube, and we have about three weeks to complete this. I have been brainstorming ideas for a few days now, and I think that I will be shooting a piece about maintaining a healthy lifestyle in college, because it is something that I am knowledgeable and will be able to complete here on campus.
Before I pick up a camera and start shooting, I am required to make a storyboard and completely write out my plan for my video. This is the part of the project that I am most worried about, because I have never storyboarded before. I am the type of person who likes to jump right into things without much planning, and alter my strategies as I go along, so this will be something new for me. I hope that it will help me avoid mistakes and save me time in the long run.
